Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.—Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)
Father God,
Help me learn to imitate You in love.
Just like a child who is
truly loved experiences that love demonstrated for him by his father, and
follows after his father’s example and teachings of how to love, help me to
walk in the ways of Your love.
Help me to love without
caution or hesitation, but rather generously and extravagantly. Help me to love others that way—not to
receive something from them, but only to bring glory to You.
Teach me how to give all
of myself to others, just as Your Son did when He came and died for us to give
us life eternal in Him.
Help me learn to imitate You in love.
