Inspired by God and Useful to Teach Us

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

God of Truth,

Thank You for the Holy Scriptures—words of truth—which were inspired by You and written for us, so that we—Your people—would be prepared and equipped to do every good work.

Draw us to the Scriptures so we can learn what is true and come to realize what is wrong in our lives—as the life by which You breathed the Scriptures breathes life into our spirits, through Your Holy Spirit.

Humble us so we will be receptive and responsive when Your Word corrects us—teachable and willingly obedient as You help us learn to do what is right.

Grant that we would become thoroughly prepared and equipped to do every good work that You have planned for us to do—having been made full of Truth and Grace, and abounding in Your love for all.

Thank You for the Holy Scriptures—words of truth—which were inspired by You and written for us, so that we—Your people—would be prepared and equipped to do every good work.

To Prepare And Equip

Creator God,

You are the One who breathed out life, by Your divine inspiration, into Your Holy Scriptures—just as You breathed life into the men that You anointed to write down Your words—so that we could be prepared and equipped to do every good work.

Thank You that Your Word is alive, given by Your inspiration, and available to me—so that I might learn of all of the wonderful blessings that are mine, when I choose to live in Your love.

Thank You that it brings me to the knowledge of what is true and—when I apply that truth to my life—it shows me those things that are wrong in my life which need to be changed.  But it doesn’t stop there.

Thank You that Your Word tells me how to do what is right and good—so that my thoughts, words and actions can be in agreement to Your will for me—and so I can experience the blessings of joy and peace that obedience to You brings.

Thank You that because of Your Word—and through the power of Your Word—I can be thoroughly equipped and ready for every good work that You have planned for me.
