Along The Best Pathway

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
    I will advise you and watch over you.

Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
    that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”

—Psalm 32:8-9 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Show me the best way through life, as I submit to Your will and allow You to guide me in love and with all wisdom.

I don’t want to fight against You, like a senseless or stubborn horse or mule, and have to endure the discipline that results from my disobedience or the consequences of having gone my own way.

Help me to remember that the path You lead me down is the best way for me to go—the way that will keep me safe and the direction in which I will find my every need is met.

Don’t allow me to forget that provision, peace and joy awaits all those who willingly seek out Your counsel and obey Your instruction.

Show me the best way through life, as I submit to Your will and allow You to guide me in love and with all wisdom.

Because The Days Are Evil

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

—Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)

Heavenly Father,

May I always choose the path of wisdom as I travel through these evil days.

Help me to examine how I live, so that I might be careful not to act foolishly, but live in the wisdom You give me through Your Word.

Help me not to miss any opportunity to do good for others when it is within my power to do so—so that others might see the transforming work that You have done in me, and give You the glory and honor that You deserve.

 

In the face of the evil that surrounds me, allow me to be a force for good in order to bring Your comfort, encouragement, strength, hope and love to others.

Help me to be that wise man who understands what the Lord’s will is and strives to live it out everyday.

May I always choose the path of wisdom as I travel through these evil days.

Sing Praise

I will sing to the LORD

      because he is good to me.

Gracious God,

As I remember Your goodness to me, fill my heart with songs of praise to You.

Fill my thoughts with gratitude for the goodness, mercy, grace and unfailing love that You pour out on me.

Help me to meditate on Your goodness and not be anxious for the evil that surrounds me.

Open my mouth and let my praise to You overflow for all to hear.

As I remember Your goodness to me, fill my heart with songs of praise to You.
