I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart.—Psalm 40:8 (NLT)
Father God,
Let me find my only joy in doing Your will.
Help me to hunger and
thirst for Your will to be revealed to me, as I prayerfully search the pages of
Your Word and as I purposefully quiet my mind, so I can listen for Your Spirit
to speak to my heart.
May my earnest seeking
after Your will cause Your instructions to be written within my heart—so that
that which is my duty to do, will truly become my delight to do.
Help me to walk in the
blessings of joy that come when, in heartfelt obedience to Your will, I follow
Your instructions—instructions You have given to me for my benefit.
Let me find my only joy in doing Your will.
