Heavenly Father,
Like an open field, You have placed Your Word before me. Help me to diligently search within it for the treasure that You have hidden there for me and then make me willing to sacrifice everything in order to make that treasure my own.
Help me not to be
satisfied to observe this field from a distance. Rather, help me to walk carefully through
this field, searching its every corner, digging deep below the surface to find
that which I might not readily see with a glance—so I will discover all of the
treasure it holds for me.
Help me to understand that
the treasure hidden there is Christ, Himself—and that in fully discovering Him
and making Him my own, I will experience the life that You have reserved for
those who have received Him.
So help me more fully
experience that abundant and forever life You have for me—as I receive Your mercy,
grace, forgiveness, knowledge, wisdom, righteousness, joy, peace, provision,
power, and unconditional love.
And as I search, help me
to be careful to listen for the voice of Your Holy Spirit—speaking to me and
instructing me through the words of Your love story to me—and help me to then
be faithful to do all that You show me to do, with grateful obedience that
flows from my love for You.
