In Your Presence, In Your Life-Giving Light

I will fulfill my vows to you, O God,
    and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help.
For you have rescued me from death;
    you have kept my feet from slipping.
So now I can walk in your presence, O God,
    in your life-giving light.

—Psalm 56:12-13 (NLT)

O God, My God,

Thank You for making a way for me to be able to walk in Your presence—and live in Your life-giving light!

It is You, O God, who gives me the desire to obey Your commands and instructions, and it is You alone who gives me the power to carry out those desires.  So, help me as I offer up a sacrifice of continual thanks for all of Your help to me!

For it is You who sent Your Son to rescue me from the certain death my sin had brought upon me—You who gave me eternal life, by Your grace poured out on me—and it is You who has kept, and will continue to keep, my feet from slipping, as I walk the paths You place before me.

Because I now wear the righteousness of Christ—and no longer carry the weight of my sin—You welcome me into Your presence to walk with You in joy and peace, safely kept both here on this earth and for all eternity, in Your life-giving, life-sustaining light.

Thank You for making a way for me to be able to walk in Your presence—and live in Your life-giving light!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
