Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.—Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)
God of Truth and Grace,
Let my heart be a storehouse for Your Word, so that I can draw from that treasure of Truth whenever I am tempted to sin against You.
Help me to make my heart a
hiding place for Your Word, filling it with that treasure of Truth—which is found
in Your Word—and safely storing it away where no man can take it from me.
For if I only hide away Your
Word somewhere in my house, it can be stolen from me. And if I trust it to my mind, my memory may
prove to be untrustworthy and I might lose the Truth.
But when I store it up in
my heart, it changes me forever from within, so that I am well able to stand
against the lies of the enemy and embrace the Truth at all times and in every
circumstance.
Let my heart be a storehouse for Your Word, so that I can draw from that treasure of Truth whenever I am tempted to sin against You.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
