Make Me Light in the Darkness

There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

—John 3:18-19 (NLT)

Holy and Just, Merciful and Gracious God,

Thank You that there is no judgment against anyone who truly believes in Jesus Christ—no condemnation, nor any hint of rejection for those who have personally chosen to trust Him as their Savior and Lord!

Break my heart for those who have not yet trusted Christ as their Savior and Lord—for those who have decided to reject Him—for they are already judged and stand convicted for not believing and trusting in the only begotten Son of God—unless they change their minds.

Help me to see that those who have rejected Christ have been blinded to the Truth of the sentence against them—that they were indicted, judged, and sentenced, when they chose darkness over the Light of Christ, all because their actions were evil.

Make me a beacon of the Light and Love of Christ that You have placed within me—and let it burst forth from me, so that my reflection of Christ might pierce through even the deepest of darkness, and bring life and liberty to those who have been blinded by the darkness of the evil which has entangled them and condemned them to eternal death.

Thank You that there is no judgment against anyone who truly believes in Jesus Christ—no condemnation, nor any hint of rejection for those who have personally chosen to trust Him as their Savior and Lord!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Your Ways And Your Truth

Teach me your ways, O LORD,
that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you.

—Psalm 86:11 (NLT)

LORD my God,

Teach me Your ways, that I may live according to Your Truth—honoring You with a pure and undivided heart.

Help me to live my life in search of the Truth and not be satisfied to live according to anything less.

Grant me great discernment so that I never fall for the lies of the world in which I live—lies that are put forth as truth, but fall far short of conforming to fact or reality.

Help me never to believe the lies that the enemy speaks to me—lies put forth to tempt me to question what I know to be true—but hold up every idea that comes into my mind to see if it agrees with the Truth of Your Word.

And show me my own heart, so that any sin that I harbor there may not stand against the light of Truth—and so my heart may be united in Christ with Your own heart.

Then help me to guard my heart with Your Truth, that it may be pure and solely given to Truth—making me free to serve You with all that I am.

Teach me Your ways, that I may live according to Your Truth—honoring You with a pure and undivided heart.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
