The Way, The Truth, and The Life!

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

—John 14:6 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that I can come to You and call You my Father because of the redeeming sacrifice, of Your Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ, for me.

When I lose my way and I find myself separated from You, remind me that Jesus is the Way—the only way—to You. Help me not to seek some lesser path back to You, but only seek the person of Jesus Christ.

When I am confused and unsure of what is true, help me not to merely seek what is true. Help me seek the One who is not only faithful and true, but is the very embodiment of Truth.

When I am feeling like my life is draining from me, help me not to seek to save my life. But rather, help me to find my life in the One who is everlasting life Himself.

Thank You that I can come to You and call You my Father because of the redeeming sacrifice, of Your Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ, for me.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

He Makes My Way Perfect

God arms me with strength,

and he makes my way perfect.

He makes me as surefooted as a deer,

enabling me to stand on mountain heights.

—Psalm 18:32-33 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for arming me with strength in every season and circumstance of life and for making my way perfect—so I can stand high on the mountain tops of victory with You.

Thank You that though life here is seldom easy—and I am daily faced with challenges along the way—You are always with me in those challenges to offer me Your strength as You walk with me through each one.

Thank You that You turn each adversity that I face to my own benefit—causing me to learn and grow—so that the way that I travel becomes the perfect path for me to become that person You have called me to be.

Thank You that in each challenge You enable me to overcome, and You cause me to be better equipped to walk in the high places where You have called me to live—standing surefootedly with You by my side—having risen high above any obstacles that would hold me back from Your best for me.

Thank You for arming me with strength in every season and circumstance of life and for making my way perfect—so I can stand high on the mountain tops of victory with You.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Wisdom Yields Patience

A person’s wisdom yields patience;

it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 19:11 (NIV)

Heavenly Father,

Grant me the wisdom that produces patience—rather than anger—and help me to choose not to be offended by what someone else may say or do.

Help me to be wise enough to watch for Your hand at work in all things that happen to me because of other people’s words or actions—that I might control my reactions and remain patient enough to find out what You have to teach me.

Help me not to eagerly embrace every opportunity to be offended by what comes my way but rather reject the destructive power that an offense can hold over me.  Help me let offenses pass me by—as I remain confidently at peace, in the truth of who I am in Christ.

Help me be slow to become angry, but quick to understand, quick to love, quick to show compassion, mercy, and grace, and quick to forgive and move forward, unencumbered by the past, in the joy and peace that You call me to walk in—so I can be busy about the good things You have for me to do, for Your glory, honor and praise.

Grant me the wisdom that produces patience—rather than anger—and help me to choose not to be offended by what someone else may say or do.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
