Wait Quietly

 

 

The LORD is good to those who depend on him,

    to those who search for him.

So it is good to wait quietly

    for salvation from the LORD.

Good and Faithful LORD,

 

May I always depend on You, and see that You are good. May I always search for You, and discover that You can be found. And may I always wait quietly for You, and find my salvation always and only comes from You.

 

Help me to acknowledge that I am totally dependent on You—that apart from You I have no hope. Display Your goodness in every corner of my life, as it is Your desire to do.

 

Help me to search for You with all my heart, so that You can usher me into Your presence and show me who You are and who I am to You.

 

Help me to wait quietly for You, trusting in Your faithfulness. Let me fully experience the salvation that comes to everyone who puts all their hope in You.

 

May I always depend on You, and see that You are good. May I always search for You, and discover that You can be found. And may I always wait quietly for You, and find my salvation always and only comes from You.

Waiting Quietly Before My God

I wait quietly before God,
    for my victory comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress where I will never be shaken.

—Psalm 62:1-2 (NLT)

Almighty God,

No matter what dangers or difficulties I may face in this life, let me with certainty of heart always wait—with confident and quiet expectation—for that saving victory that can only come from You.

Help me to keep a right relationship with You—willingly submitting to You as my Sovereign God—looking to You for help, as a child looks to a good father to deliver him from trouble, or to carry him through that trouble in complete safety.

Help me not to complain against what You do—as if I could know better than You.  And help me to embrace Your will as my own, choosing to make You the firm and immovable rock upon which my life is built—to make You my only salvation.

Let me live in the truth that You are the only strong fortress where I can find quiet shelter from the storms that rage against me—the only place I can hide myself and not be shaken by their fury.

No matter what dangers or difficulties I may face in this life, let me with certainty of heart always wait—with confident and quiet expectation—for that saving victory that can only come from You.

Waiting Quietly

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
    for my hope is in him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,

    He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.

Heavenly Father,

Out of the tranquility of my spirit, which brings peaceful clarity to my mind and quiet rest to my body, let me wait with expectation in Your presence, for all my hope is in You alone—my refuge, my rock and my salvation.

Help me to listen to my spirit man, as You speak truth to me by Your Holy Spirit. 

Help me not allow the imaginations of my mind to give room for the attacks of the enemy which would tempt me to act rashly and out of fear. 

Rather, let me wait in the peace and safety that You provide to those who will place all their hope in You.

Remind me that if I remain in You—waiting confidently in Your presence—You will not allow my faith to be shaken, but will protect me, help me stand on the solid ground of Your unchanging power, and save me from my all my enemies.

My victory and honor will come from You alone and be made possible only by Your power and might alive in me, for You are my dwelling place of safety where no enemy can reach me.  So, I will always give You the praise, for You alone are worthy.
