My Greatest Joy

I take joy in doing your will, my God,
    for your instructions are written on my heart.

Father God,

Let my greatest joy be found in doing Your will!

Don’t ever allow my passion for discovering Your will for me diminish from within me—but let me always take time to prayerfully search the pages of Your Word for Your will, purposefully quieting my mind, so I can listen as Your Spirit reveals the Truth to me and establishes it within my heart.

Let my earnest seeking after Your will result in Your instructions being written deep within my heart—so that that which is my duty to do, as a follower of Christ, will truly become my joy and delight and privilege to do.

Help me to live out my life in Your Truth and experience the joy and the peace that come when, in heartfelt obedience to Your will, I follow Your instruction—and as You, according to Your unending faithfulness and unfailing love, provide for me, protect me, and keep me in every way.

Let my greatest joy be found in doing Your will!
