Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.—Colossians 3:1-3 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Since I have decided to make Christ the Lord of my life and have chosen this new life with Him, help me to seek after eternal realities and find that my real life is hidden—concealed and kept safe—with Christ in You.
Help
me to flee from earthly temptations and put to death my desires for the things
of this world—things which lead me to be
self-focused, materialistic, pleasure seeking and superficial.
Help
me to search out Your eternal perspective, die to self, and allow the life of
Christ to live in me and change me into the person I should be—one who truly loves
You and loves others with the love of Christ.
Help me to fill my
thoughts with Your thoughts—in order to see things as You do—so that my desires
become those things that You desire and my thoughts, words, and actions become
an outflow of my love for You.
