“The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” —Exodus 14:14 (NLT)
The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." —Exodus 33:14 (NIV)
You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.—Psalm 16:11 (NASB)
LORD of Life, and
Joy, and Peace,
When I grow weary of the fight, when I long for peace and rest, when I don’t know what to do, remind me to remain calm—to remain in Your Presence.
Keep me from the insanity
of trying to fight on my own—when if I will be still in Your Presence, You will
show me how You already are, and always have been, fighting for me.
Keep me from the insanity
of trying to find rest anywhere other than in Your Presence—for only there can
my mind be quieted, my will become submitted to Yours, and my emotions find the
serenity I long for.
Keep me from the insanity
of trying to find my way through life outside of Your Presence—for only You can
light the path of life for me and show me the joys of obediently living in Your
Presence here on earth.
And grant that I would experience all of the fullness of joy and
the pleasures that You offer to me, as You hold me in Your everlasting arms—and
fight all my battles for me.
When I grow weary of the fight, when I long for peace and rest, when I don’t know what to do, remind me that You are waiting for me to be still in Your Presence.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
