Stand Firm in the Faith

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.

—1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

In these difficult and uncertain times, as I await the return of Your Son, Jesus, may I never let my guard down. May I always stand firm in my faith, be courageous and strong, and do everything You ask of me with love.

Help me to stay on guard—alert, aware, and ready to respond—to any attack of enemy, whether it comes as an overt threat, or a subtle attempt to deceive me and lead me away from what I know is true.

Help me to stand on the truth You have shown me in Your Word and refuse to exchange it for the so-called “wisdom” of this world—remembering that it is by faith alone, in Christ alone, that I am able to stand.

Make me fearlessly courageous and forever strong. As Your dearly loved child, never let me forget who I am in Christ. Keep me sensitive to Your Spirit and willingly obedient to Your Word, for my confidence and strength is found in You.

Cause grace and truth to coexist within my heart—in the purest form of love—and let my thoughts, words and actions be a God-honoring reflection of the love of Jesus Christ in me.

In these difficult and uncertain times, as I await the return of Your Son, Jesus, may I never let my guard down. May I always stand firm in my faith, be courageous and strong, and do everything You ask of me with love.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayerful, Watchful, Thankful

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

— Colossians 4:2 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father,

May I forever devote myself to continue in steadfast prayer to You and watch with great expectation and thanksgiving for You to answer with my best interests at heart—bringing You the greatest glory and me the greatest good.

May I never grow weary in prayer but remain steadfastly committed to deepening my personal relationship with You through continual, prayerful, conversation with You.

May I remain alert, watchful, and persistent in prayer, confident that You hear the requests that I make and are faithful to answer according to Your perfect timing and best plan for my life.

May I always be thankful to You for the answer—even before the answer comes—as an act of my faith and trust in Your mercy, grace, goodness, and unfailing love towards me.

May I forever devote myself to continue in steadfast prayer to You and watch with great expectation and thanksgiving for You to answer with my best interests at heart—bringing You the greatest glory and me the greatest good.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

With an Attitude!

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.

—Colossians 4:2 (AMP)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

Help me to be persistent in my prayers—devoting myself to pray about all things—knowing You long for me to lay the desires of my heart before You, and to place all my trust in You, believing that You will do what only You can do.

Help me to be alert and focused as I come before You with my prayers—mindful that I am speaking directly to You, knowing that only You hold all power and authority in Your hands, that only You are willing and able to answer my prayers, and that only You can do this according to Your perfect love for me.

Help me to come before You with an attitude of thanksgiving—grateful for all that You have done, are doing, and have yet to bring to pass, but also grateful for all that You are that makes You worthy of my unending worship and adoration, forever!

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Do Everything With Love

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith.  Be courageous.  Be strong.  And do everything with love.

—1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

In these difficult and uncertain times, as I wait for the return of Your Son, Jesus, help me always to be on guard, to stand firm in my faith, to be courageous and strong—and to do everything You have called me to do with love.

Help me to stay alert, aware and ready to respond to any attack from the enemy—whether it is an obvious threat to my physical safety, or a subtle attempt to deceive me and entice me down a path of destruction.

Help me to hold fast to the revelation of Truth that I have found in Your Word and refuse to exchange it for the so-called “wisdom” of this world—remembering, at all times, that it is by this faith alone that I am able to stand against temptation and, in Christ, overcome the world.

Make me fearlessly courageous and forever strong by never letting me forget who I am in Christ and by keeping me sensitive to Your Spirit—ready to obediently take action as You speak to my spirit, and as I acknowledge that I am completely dependent on You and Your Almighty Power and Presence at work in me.

As I move forward boldly and courageously in Your strength, cause grace and truth to coexist within my heart—in the purest form of love—and let my thoughts, my words and my actions be a God-honoring reflection of the love of Jesus Christ.

In these difficult and uncertain times, as I wait for the return of Your Son, Jesus, help me always to be on guard, to stand firm in my faith, to be courageous and strong—and to do everything You have called me to do with love.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
