Prayerful, Watchful, Thankful

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

— Colossians 4:2 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father,

May I forever devote myself to continue in steadfast prayer to You and watch with great expectation and thanksgiving for You to answer with my best interests at heart—bringing You the greatest glory and me the greatest good.

May I never grow weary in prayer but remain steadfastly committed to deepening my personal relationship with You through continual, prayerful, conversation with You.

May I remain alert, watchful, and persistent in prayer, confident that You hear the requests that I make and are faithful to answer according to Your perfect timing and best plan for my life.

May I always be thankful to You for the answer—even before the answer comes—as an act of my faith and trust in Your mercy, grace, goodness, and unfailing love towards me.

May I forever devote myself to continue in steadfast prayer to You and watch with great expectation and thanksgiving for You to answer with my best interests at heart—bringing You the greatest glory and me the greatest good.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

With an Attitude!

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.

—Colossians 4:2 (AMP)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

Help me to be persistent in my prayers—devoting myself to pray about all things—knowing You long for me to lay the desires of my heart before You, and to place all my trust in You, believing that You will do what only You can do.

Help me to be alert and focused as I come before You with my prayers—mindful that I am speaking directly to You, knowing that only You hold all power and authority in Your hands, that only You are willing and able to answer my prayers, and that only You can do this according to Your perfect love for me.

Help me to come before You with an attitude of thanksgiving—grateful for all that You have done, are doing, and have yet to bring to pass, but also grateful for all that You are that makes You worthy of my unending worship and adoration, forever!

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

To Keep On Asking, Seeking, Knocking

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.  Keep on seeking, and you will find.  Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives.  Everyone who seeks, finds.  And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

—Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to be persistent in my pursuit to learn more about You—so I can live in all the fullness of that close, personal, intimate relationship with You, which was made available to me through Christ.

Help me to keep asking You for good things—things that You want me to have—like knowledge and understanding of Your ways, wisdom to discern the truth in every situation, faith to believe, and mercy, love, and compassion for others.

Help me to be intentional, purposeful, and relentless, as I seek You with all my heart—and keep me from settling for a half-hearted, haphazard approach to discovering who You are, who I am in You, and understanding Your plans and purposes for my life.

Help me to keep knocking at the door of Your heart, knowing that You will always answer me and welcome me into Your Presence—when I come to You believing that You take great delight in showing me things I do not know.

Help me to be persistent in my pursuit to learn more about You—so I can live in all the fullness of that close, personal, intimate relationship with You, which was made available to me through Christ.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
