All Who Call Upon Him

The L
ORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry and will save them.

—Psalm 145:18-19 (NASB)

Faithful and Loving LORD,

What an amazing comfort to know that You are near, that You hear us when we call on You in truth, that You fulfill our desire when we fear You, and save us in every way!

May my response to Your promised nearness be to call upon You in truth—that is to call upon You from a clean, sincere, and devoted heart, a heart that beats after Your own heart.

May my response to Your promise to fulfill my desire be to fear You—that is to praise, worship, and serve only You, in holy awe of all You are and all You have done, so that my greatest desire is to know You and to make You known.

May my response to Your promise to hear me and save me be to cry out to You with confidence—that is to recognize my total dependence on You and find my hope in Your faithfulness to all Your promises.

What an amazing comfort to know that You are near, that You hear us when we call on You in truth, that You fulfill our desire when we fear You, and save us in every way!

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

With an Attitude!

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.

—Colossians 4:2 (AMP)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

Help me to be persistent in my prayers—devoting myself to pray about all things—knowing You long for me to lay the desires of my heart before You, and to place all my trust in You, believing that You will do what only You can do.

Help me to be alert and focused as I come before You with my prayers—mindful that I am speaking directly to You, knowing that only You hold all power and authority in Your hands, that only You are willing and able to answer my prayers, and that only You can do this according to Your perfect love for me.

Help me to come before You with an attitude of thanksgiving—grateful for all that You have done, are doing, and have yet to bring to pass, but also grateful for all that You are that makes You worthy of my unending worship and adoration, forever!

Thank You for giving me the privilege of praying to You—the One who hears and answers my prayers, according to Your perfect will, and Your very best for me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Following Instructions For Freedom

I will keep on obeying your instructions
    forever and ever.
I will walk in freedom,
for I have devoted myself to your commandments.

—Psalm 119:14-16 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the freedom that You make available to me as I carefully obey Your instructions.

Help me always to look at the instructions You give in Your Word as pathways that lead to my freedom—pathways which You have graciously placed before me for my own good.

Help me to see that obedience to Your commandments and instructions does not inhibit me or restrain me, but rather allows me the freedom to become the person that You designed me to be all along—and keeps me from the consequences that come when I willfully or ignorantly disobey You.

Help me to see I can only be free to fulfill Your plan for my life as I commit to know and follow Your instructions now and forever.

Thank You for the freedom that You make available to me as I carefully obey Your instructions.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
