He Will Keep in Perfect Peace

You will keep in perfect peace
    all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Trust in the LORD always,
for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.

Isaiah 26:3-4 (NLT)

LORD GOD of Peace,

Grant that I would abide—would remain—in that perfect and constant peace that comes when I trust You completely and keep You within my every thought.

Help me to place all my trust in You—no matter what hardship or pain, no matter what circumstances or situations I may face—knowing that You will deliver me out of, or carry me safely through, every attack of the enemy.

Help me to fix my thoughts on You, rather than trying to find my own way out of my troubles—confidently believing that every answer I am looking for is found in You.

Help me live in the kind of peace that not only remains in me, but radiates outwardly, from deep within me, to a world that needs Your peace so desperately.

Establish within my heart this unchanging truth:  that You are, and forever will be, my strength and the firm, unchanging, and never-failing Rock upon which all my faith and hope stands.

Grant that I would abide—would remain—in that perfect and constant peace that comes when I trust You completely and keep You within my every thought.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

No Greater Love!

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

John 15:12-13 (NLT)

My Lord Jesus,

Help me to love others as You have loved me—to lay down my life for my friends.

Help me more fully understand and more completely receive Your love for me—so that same love will flow through me, in all my thoughts, words and actions, toward others.

Your love for me is not dependent on my love for You—for Your love continues constant, unchanging and unfailing, regardless of my faults and failures.

Your love for me is demonstrated in Your compassion for me—and poured out over me with mercy and grace, by Your goodness and kindness toward me.

Your love for me is evidenced in Your patience and gentleness with me—for Your love for me is perfectly genuine and never superficial.

Your love for me changes me and always points me to my Heavenly Father—back to the love relationship I was made to have with Him.

Your love for me is sacrificial. You laid down Your life for me, so that I could have life—so I could then follow Your example, by setting aside my will, so that the Father’s will would be done through me.

Help me to love others as You have loved me—to lay down my life for my friends.

In Your compassionate and loving Name, Lord Jesus, Amen.

The Almighty One!

“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

—Revelation 1:8 (NLT)

Lord God Almighty,

You alone are worthy of all my praise and worship! There is no one like You—and without You I am nothing!

You, Lord God, are the beginning of all there is and the end of all there is—Creator and Sustainer of everything that exists and the One who gives me life.  You always have been and always will be the Almighty One, the eternal Lord and Ruler over everything—past, present, and future.

Without You, I have nothing—nothing eternal, constant, and unchanging to put my hope in, nothing that can save me from the death I bring upon myself because of my sin, and nothing that can transform me into the person that You intended for me to be.

Therefore, You are my reason for living, the power behind every good thought I have, every true word I speak, every good thing I do, and the Almighty source of the strength by which I live my life—all held in the hope that I might glorify You.

Because of the spirit of Christ in me, I am fully equipped to be everything that You want me to be—to complete Your plan and purpose for me—while I remain here on earth.  Help me to believe and live in this Truth!

You alone are worthy of all my praise and worship! There is no one like You—and without You I am nothing!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Christ's Love for Us

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Romans 8:35, 37 (NLT)

Loving Heavenly Father,

May I always rejoice in the knowledge that there is nothing that can ever separate me from the constant and continuous love of Christ—which never wavers, never diminishes, never fails, and never ends.

In the tough and troubled times of my life, help me to cling to this Truth: You will use everything that I may suffer to help me to identify more closely with Christ’s sufferings on my behalf, so I can more fully realize the depth of His love for me, and be drawn into ever closer fellowship with You.

Use those times of my life to help me to understand how totally dependent I am on You to provide everything I need, not only survive, but also to thrive along this journey here—as I watch You prove Your faithfulness to me, every step along the way.

Let me never forget that no matter what may come, I have no need to fear, for overwhelming victory is mine through Christ—who, because of His great love for me, heals my brokenness with Truth; who, through His mercy, forgives my sin and makes me completely whole; and who, out of His amazing grace, grants me abundant and eternal life with Him.

May I always rejoice in the knowledge that there is nothing that can ever separate me from the constant and continuous love of Christ—which never wavers, never diminishes, never fails, and never ends.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
