God is Faithful!

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

—1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being faithful to provide the way of escape—from the temptations of this world—to all who have received the salvation you offer through Jesus Christ.

Don’t allow me to think that the temptation that overcomes me is any different than those that the rest of humanity experiences. Help me to see that every temptation is common to mankind in this broken world—and allowed by You that I may grow through them.

Help me to remember that because of the Holy Spirit who lives within me, I have the power available to resist and withstand every temptation, to choose a different way—the way of escape. I have been set free from my slavery to sin—set free to choose what is right and good and to reject that which is not.

Help me see that the way of escape is found within my relationship with Your written and living Word. Keep me willingly obedient to every instruction of Your Word, trusting every prompting of Your Spirit—as You lead me in the path of life and peace.

Thank You for being faithful to provide the way of escape—from the temptations of this world—to all who have received the salvation you offer through Jesus Christ.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love, Strength, Courage, And Hope

Love the LORD, all you godly ones!
For the Lord protects those who are loyal to him,
but he harshly punishes the arrogant.
So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the L
ORD!

—Psalm 31:23-24 (NLT)

Forever Faithful LORD,

Help me to love You more completely and faithfully—knowing that I will receive Your protection and that I can trust You to be forever just.  Make me strong and courageous, as I choose to make You my only hope!

Help me to prove my love for You, by walking uprightly before You—choosing never to divide my loyalty, but rather, making Christ alone the Lord of my heart and my life.

Let me always walk humbly with You, rejecting all pride that may try to raise its ugly head within me—so I might escape the punishment that is reserved for the arrogant and represent Christ well, to the lost of this world.

Let me receive the strength and courage I need to face the evil that surrounds me—strength and courage that You give freely to those who put all their hope in You

Help me to love You more completely and faithfully—knowing that I will receive Your protection and that I can trust You to be forever just.  Make me strong and courageous, as I choose to make You my only hope!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

No Escaping Your Presence

I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.

—Psalm 139:7-10 (NLT)

Omnipresent LORD,

Thank You that no matter where I wander, You are already there waiting for me—just as You have always been—holding within Yourself everything that I will ever need and making it freely available to me, if I will only turn and seek You with my whole heart.

Never let me forget that though I cannot see You—and though I may not always sense Your Spirit with me—You never leave me, but rather are constantly and compassionately watching over me according to Your unfailing love for me.

When, in my foolishness, I have gone my own way and feel like I am far from where You are, help me to remember that I only need to look for You and that, in calling out for You, I will find that You are right there with me—having never left my side, having never let go of my hand—ready to forgive me and restore me to fellowship with You once again.

May the knowledge of Your constant presence with me create within me the courage to faithfully follow wherever Your Spirit might take me—trusting that Your hand will guide me and Your strength will support me, no matter where Your perfect path for me may lead.

Thank You that no matter where I wander, You are already there waiting for me—just as You have always been—holding within Yourself everything that I will ever need and making it freely available to me, if I will only turn and seek You with my whole heart.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
