Enough For Me

LORD, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.

—Psalm 16:5 (NLT)

Gracious and Loving LORD,

Oh that it could be said of my life in the end—that You were enough for me!

Help me to understand and believe that You alone are my inheritance—that which is mine now and that which is left to me forever when life on earth is over.

Make me conscious of the truth that you are my over flowing cup of blessing—that every good thing comes to me as You planned and by Your hand alone.

Help me to see that You guard all that is mine—that You have given me everything and that You also stand guard over it all, so that I won’t lose anything You want me to have—whether it be things that meet my physical needs, or spiritual truths, or even relationships You have established.

And help me be faithful to offer my inheritance to those that follow after me—knowing that in giving my inheritance to others I lose nothing, since in You I have already gained everything.

Oh that it could be said of my life in the end—that You were enough for me!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Serving Only Him

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

—Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

Heavenly Father,

Save me from any tendency I might have to work half-heartedly, by keeping me mindful of the One that I work for—Jesus Christ, my Lord!

I truly want to please You in all things and at all times—because of my love for You.

May I always put myself whole-heartedly into everything I do—both the very big things and the very small things—in order to bring glory to You alone.

May my true purpose not be found in working to please man—as if that was all that mattered—but let it be found in my love for You and my desire to please You.

Convict my heart when I am tempted to complain about the mundane tasks of life, and give me a heart to give You the very best I have to offer—no matter what task I find before me—never forgetting the great reward You have waiting for me at the end of my labor here on Earth.

Keep me ever mindful that You see everything that I do and help me as I purpose to always be willing and obedient as I work for You—that I might prove my love for You.

Save me from any tendency I might have to work half-heartedly, by keeping me mindful of the One that I work for—Jesus Christ, my Lord!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

No Other Place

A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
For the L
ORD God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The L
ORD will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.

—Psalm 84:10-11 (NLT)

Gracious God,

There is no other place that I would rather be than where You are!

A single day in Your presence, serving You wholeheartedly in whatever path You put me on, is so much better than countless days elsewhere.

Thank You that because of Christ, I have the privilege of being able to come into Your presence and worship You for who You are.

You are my Sun—the source of light and life—lighting my pathway, guiding and directing me, filling me with power, and enlightening my heart to Your Truth.

You are my Shield—my protector—keeping me safe from the attacks of the enemy, so I have no need to fear.

You pour out unmerited favor upon me and are actively at work within me helping me to grow by Your grace.

You have honored me by adopting me as one of Your very own and have prepared for me a great inheritance in glory.

You will not withhold any good thing from me—when I do what is right.

There is no other place that I would rather be than where You are!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
