Living In Truth And Love

Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.

—2 John 1:3 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your assurance that grace, mercy and peace will continue to be with me, if I live in truth and love.

You are God my Father, the giver of grace, mercy and peace through your Son, Jesus Christ—and You freely give these precious gifts to those who choose to live in truth and in love.

And that absolute truth and love which I must live in, I find revealed in Your written Word and in Your Word made flesh—in the person of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior—who is Your greatest expression of love and truth .

So, save me from the lies of the enemy which would try to convince me that there is no truth, or that truth is defined by a person’s personal preferences—and help me always look to You, as the ultimate standard by which everything should be judged.

And should I ever find my peace disrupted, Your mercy for me in question, or feel as though Your grace to me is running low, remind me to look to see if I have walked away from truth and love—and bring me back to Your Word that I might be restored.

Help me to let Your truth and love—Your eternal Word—always remain in me as my source of life, and forever overflow from deep within me to those around me.

Thank You for Your assurance that grace, mercy and peace will continue to be with me, if I live in truth and love.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Love So Amazing

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.  For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.  So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

—Romans 5:8-11 (NLT)

Loving Father,

Thank You for the amazing way that You reached out to me in love—when I was Your enemy—and not only saved me from death, but through Christ, made me Your friend!

Even though I was lost in the filthy grip of sin and even though I was Your enemy in every way, You touched me with a love so amazing—by the sacrifice of Your own Son.

I was cleansed from my sin and made right in Your sight—by the blood of Christ—so that I could be called Your friend.

Thank You that Your love did not first demand that I love You—that Your love for me is constant and without condition.

Thank You that I now live because the life of Christ lives in me—and I am saved by that life.

Let me never cease rejoicing in the friendship I have with You.

Thank You for the amazing way that You reached out to me in love—when I was Your enemy—and not only saved me from death, but through Christ, made me Your friend!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
