Heavenly
Father,
In these difficult and uncertain times, as I wait for the return of Your Son, Jesus, help me always to be on guard, stand firm in my faith, be courageous and strong—and do everything with love.
Keep me alert, aware and
ready to respond to the dangers which surround me every moment of every day—whether
they are obvious threats to my safety, or subtle attempts by the enemy to
deceive me and entice me into ruin.
Help me to hold fast to
the revelation of truth that I have found in Your Word and not exchange it for
the so-called “wisdom” of this world—remembering, at all times, that it is by
this faith that I am able to stand against temptation and, in Christ, overcome
the world.
Make me fearlessly
courageous and forever strong by never letting me forget who I am in You and by
keeping me sensitive to Your Spirit—ensuring I will be ready to respond as You
speak to my spirit—proving that I am completely dependent on You and Your
Almighty Power and Presence at work in me.
As I move forward boldly
and courageously in that strength, remind me always to temper my thoughts, words
and my actions with that God-kind of love that was perfectly demonstrated for
me by my loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
