In It, Not Like It

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

—Colossians 4:5-6 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

I want to walk in Your wisdom, LORD, as I purpose to live in this world, but not be like this world.

Help me to guard my heart against anything that would tempt me to act thoughtlessly or react rashly—anything that would keep me from fully following Your plan for my life this day.

Help me to be sensitive to Your Spirit moving in the hearts of those around me and make the most of every opportunity to show Your love to others—especially to those who do not know You as their Savior.

When I speak, fill my mouth with Your words so that my conversation will not offend them or give them any cause to reject You.

Grant me the wisdom to give the right response to them out of Your Truth and Your unfailing Love.

I want to walk in Your wisdom, LORD, as I purpose to live in this world, but not be like this world.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
