To Hear And Know The Truth

“If you love me, obey my commandments.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.  He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.”

Lord of my life,

Help me to prove my love for You through my willing obedience to Your commandments, as I look to the Holy Spirit within me to guide me into all Truth.

May my love for You be so much more than just words that I push carelessly across my lips without thinking.

Rather let that love so permeate my being that it flows freely from me in obedience to Your commandments—in everything that I think, say and do.

Help me to look to the Advocate—the Holy Spirit of God—to be my Comforter when I am hurting, my Encourager when I am discouraged, my Counselor when I need guidance, my Helper when the work gets hard, my Strengthener when I need to take a stand, my Friend when I need to know I am never alone, and my Teacher when I need to hear and know the Truth.

Keep me sensitive to Your Spirit alive within me at all times, so that I might not miss anything that He desires to reveal to me along my journey here on earth.

Help me to prove my love for You through my willing obedience to Your commandments, as I look to the Holy Spirit within me to guide me into all Truth.

Truth In Christ Alone

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

Heavenly Father,

May my heart never be taken captive by any deception this world offers up as an answer to my search for Truth, but find my answers in the only One in whom I can find and know the Truth that sets me free—my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Let me not be satisfied with philosophies that are built on mere human thinking to satisfy my need to know the Truth—but always look to Your Word.

Help me not to be misled by man’s deceitful words—which, despite the fact that they sound right, are twisted to entrap my heart in lies, in order to lead me to destruction.

Keep me from blindly buying into the traditions of man as the Truth—things that have been done so long that they are presumed to be true—knowing that the spiritual powers of this world are lying in wait to capture me and keep me from the freedom that is found in Christ alone.

May my heart never be taken captive by any deception this world offers up as an answer to my search for Truth, but find my answers in the only One in whom I can find and know the Truth that sets me free—my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Just Love

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.  Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.  But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to love others with the kind of love that only comes from You.

Since I am Your child, made in Your very own image, help me share Your love with others—the same love that I have been blessed to experience in my own life, not because of any great thing that I have done, but simply because I know You.

Out of a heart overflowing with gratitude to You for Your love for me, and through Your eyes of understanding, mercy, forgiveness, compassion and grace, help me to see others as You do and make intentional choices and take definitive actions to give of myself to others in love—just as Jesus did.

And may all those that look at me, in truth, only see Your love reflected through me—and be drawn to You that they may come to know that You are love.

Help me to love others with the kind of love that only comes from You.
