True And Right Paths

Let those who are wise understand these things.
    Let those with discernment listen carefully.
The paths of the LORD are true and right,
    and righteous people live by walking in them.
    But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.

LORD of Heaven and Earth,

Grant me wisdom as I search Your Holy scriptures, that I might gain understanding.  And grant me discernment, as I listen carefully—intent on applying to my life that Truth which You are faithful to reveal to me by Your Holy Spirit.

I know that all Your paths are true and right—and that because of the righteousness that I have received in Christ, I find life by walking in them.

I know that without Christ, I could not walk those paths without stumbling and falling—so help my heart to swell with compassion for those who don’t yet have Your light within them to illuminate the path before them.

And make me bold to share that precious hope that is mine in Christ—that they, too, can walk in those true and right paths that lead to life and a forever home with You.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Heavenly Father,

Let my heart’s sole desire be to make Jesus Christ the Lord and King over all of my life—that my life might bring You glory.

Let the plans that I make be in harmony with the path that You have laid out before me—which is Your very best for me.

Let the work that I set my hands to be the work that You are doing in the lives of others—work that You have allowed me to join with You in doing.

Let the relationships that I form be the relationships that You have appointed for me—relationships in which everyone is blessed.

Let the hope that I have in my heart be the hope that is found in You alone—that I would not place my trust in someone or something less.

Let the love that I share be a perfect reflection of the unfailing love You have showered on me—that others might see Christ in me.

Let the time that I play be a joyous celebration of praise and thanksgiving to You for Your gift of life to me—and the promise that there is better yet to come in my forever home.

Let the rest that I take from my labors, be the rest that only You can give—flowing from the knowledge that You care for my every need.

Help me to seek Your Kingdom first—by relinquishing control over my life to the Lordship of Jesus—believing that You will sustain me and will equip me in every way—materially, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually—so that I can walk with You that path to which You have called me.

Your Sheltering Wings

Because you are my helper,
    I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.

I cling to you;
    your strong right hand holds me securely.

Almighty God,

Let me ever cling to You while I sing for joy—sheltered under Your unfailing love and upheld in every way by the almighty power of Your own right hand.

While there are some people who think they will find their help from the things of this world, I know the Truth—that my help is found in You alone.

You are the One who spoke the heavens and the earth into existence—so where would I find better help for my life here on earth, than from the Creator of all that there is?

Because You love me, I can sing for joy at all times—no matter what outward circumstances I face—for You shelter me under the protection of Your covering wings from the troubles of this life and take on Yourself the force of each storm that comes against me.

As I cling to You, You hold me securely and never let go, upholding me in every way, by the power of Your right hand, so that I am able to fulfill Your plan and purpose for me—as I trust in Your peace, provision and protection over me.

So, let my unending song in this life be a joyful song of praise, worship and thanksgiving offered to You—my only help and my sure salvation!
