God is our refuge and strength,

LORD God Almighty,

Thank You for being my place of shelter and protection, my source of strength for every moment I face in life, and for always being ready to help me in my times of trouble!

Thank You that this is not only something that I believe, but it is something that I have seen proven again and again in my life, throughout my entire relationship with You.

It is by Your presence with me—and Your magnificent power at work within me, flowing through me, and at work all around me—that You have delivered me through, or out of, every trouble that I have ever faced.

Help me always remember Your faithfulness to me, so that—in response to Your demonstrated love for me—I might become ever more faithful in my relationship with You.

Always With Me

When you go through deep waters,

Loving LORD,

You are the One who has placed Your loving affection on me and walks closely with me down this path which is my life—so that I never have to face life alone.

When I feel as if I am drowning—that my troubles are too deep—You are there to give me my next breath and to help me to regain my footing.

When I feel as if I am going to be swept away by the raging currents around me—the tides of evil that come against me—You are there to help me stand firm.

When I feel the burning oppression of the enemy—those flames which seek to consume my very soul—You are there to shield me in Your loving arms, to remind me of who I am, and assure me of Your immeasurable love for me, so that I can continue to walk with You through every attack undefeated.

That Which Determines The Course Of My Life

Guard your heart above all else,
    for it determines the course of your life.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to guard my heart above all else—understanding that what I allow to fill my heart, will determine the course of my life.

Help me to see that the battle for my heart is a battle that is waged against the enemy, in my mind, for the rights to occupy that sacred space, which is my heart—it is a battle over what thoughts (good or bad) and beliefs (right or wrong) that I will allow to fill my heart, and thus determine my life’s course.

Help me remember that You are always with me in this battle and that I am armed with the Truth of Your Word, the Bible, so that I have the strength that I need to stand against the enemy and the weapons I need to defeat him and defend the holy ground of my heart.

Help me to make my heart a space that only You can fill—with Your Presence and Power—as I wage every battle of my mind, by holding every thought captive until it lines up with the Truth of the Word, as revealed to my heart, by the Holy Spirit.

Help me to guard my heart above all else—understanding that what I allow to fill my heart, will determine the course of my life.
