Share Your Heart, Make Me Wise

Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
    and make you wise.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You ask me to come to You and listen to Your counsel—and for promising to share Your heart with me and make me wise.

Give me a hunger to come boldly into You presence with a heart to listen for, to hear, to understand, and to follow Your counsel, as through Your Word You tell me—and by Your Spirit You teach me—everything I need to know to accomplish Your plans and purposes for me.

Continue to show me more of Your heart with every day that passes.  Share as much of Your heart with me as I can stand—so that my heart might beat more and more after the things I find in You, and less and less after my own desires and distractions.

Teach me to draw from the deep wells of wisdom that I only find in You—as I allow Your great power, Your complete understanding, and Your perfect wisdom to flow through me and guide my every choice in truth.

Thank You that You ask me to come to You and listen to Your counsel—and for promising to share Your heart with me and make me wise.

We Can Rejoice!

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.  And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to choose to rejoice always, even in the face of any problems and trials I may face.  Let me look beyond them to see the working of Your plan—a plan to help me to endure all things, as I grow in strength of character, in hope of Your salvation, and in knowledge of Your love for me.

Help me to endure every hardship I face with complete faith and trust in You—knowing that You use life’s difficulties, and even Satan’s attacks against me, to strengthen my character.

Then use my strengthened character to build my confident hope that You will always be faithful to save me in, or through, or out of every situation or circumstance that I may face—even death itself.

Remind me that as long as my hope is in You alone, I will never be disappointed, and help me to truly embrace how much You dearly love me—as Your Holy Spirit fills my heart with Your love.

The God Who Rescues Me

The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.

When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.

I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.”

O LORD my GOD,

Thank You for the promises that You have made to remain with me in this world, to rescue and protect me, and to ultimately save me out of this world—when You take me to that place where there are no more troubles.

Your Word promises me that You will rescue me—if I love You.

Your Word promises me that You will protect me—when I put my trust in Your name.

Your Word promises me that You will answer me—every time I call to You.

Your Word promises me that You will be with me—even when I find myself in trouble.

Your Word promises me that You will honor me—as I humbly depend on You alone.

Your Word promises me that You will reward me with long life—long enough for me to accomplish Your purposes for me here and to make me ready to meet You there.

Your Word promises me that You will give me Your salvation—as I reach out and take it by faith.

Thank You for the promises that You have made to remain with me in this world, to rescue and protect me, and to ultimately save me out of this world—when You take me to that place where there are no more troubles.
