Hiding Place

You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Psalm 32:7 (NIV)

O LORD, My God,

Where else, O LORD, can I go to hide?  To whom can I turn for protection from my troubles, besides You?  Who else will surround me with songs of deliverance?  My only hope for salvation is found in You, through Christ!

You alone are my hiding place—my place of safety and comfort, my sanctuary of peace—where I am held in Your arms, high above the storms of this life.  So may my life always remain hidden in Christ.

In You alone will I find protection from all my troubles—as I humble myself before you, repent of my sins, and experience the grace of Your loving-kindness.

Only You, will surround me with songs of deliverance.  Just as You have delivered me from the power of sin and death over my life, You will save me from all the powers that would seek to destroy me—when I hide myself in You.

Where else, O LORD, can I go to hide?  To whom can I turn for protection from my troubles, besides You?  Who else will surround me with songs of deliverance?  My only hope for salvation is found in You, through Christ!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Personally

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

Omnipresent and Sovereign LORD,

May my confident hope—for the facing of this day before me—be found in Your promise that You will personally go ahead of me, that You will be with me, and that You will neither fail me nor abandon me!

Help me to remember that You are always with me, and that where I am going, You are already there—that You have gone before me to make a way for me, so that with each step I take, I can be where You are, as You call me to Yourself.

Don’t allow any situations or circumstances before me draw me into fear or discouragement. Help me to reject any thoughts or doubts that come up against the Truth of Your promises to me—help me trust in Your love for me!

Help me to walk boldly forward into the plan that You have for me today—knowing that You will never fail me nor abandon me, but will walk with me to empower me, provide for me, and protect me along the path You have chosen for me, today.

May my confident hope—for the facing of this day before me—be found in Your promise that You will personally go ahead of me, that You will be with me, and that You will neither fail me nor abandon me!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

In Your Unfailing Love

I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love,

for you have seen my troubles,

and you care about the anguish of my soul.

Psalm 31:7 (NLT)

Loving LORD,

How wonderful it is to be glad and rejoice in Your love—to know that it’s Your unfailing love that always carries me through even the hardest things that life may bring!

When my troubles try to overtake me, show me Your unfailing love—Your mercy and Your grace poured out over me. For only through the caring and compassion of Your presence with me will the anguish of my soul be truly put to rest.

Don’t allow my soul to be overwhelmed. Don’t allow my troubled heart to see the very hard but momentary struggles I face here on earth, as larger than Your capacity to bring me through them all, in the ultimate victory granted to me in Christ.

Help me to run to Your love and help me to trust You to uphold me in that love—to protect me and provide for me, because You see my troubles, care about the anguish of my soul, and have a plan to bring good from it all.

How wonderful it is to be glad and rejoice in Your love—to know that it’s Your unfailing love that always carries me through even the hardest things that life may bring!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Keep and Protect

I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but that You keep them and protect them from the evil one.

John 17:15 (AMP)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to walk that fine line between understanding that this world is not my home, and still accepting that I have an important part to play in Your divine plan, while I remain here.

Help me to remember that when Jesus prayed to You, He did not ask You to take us out of the world, because the world desperately needs the light of Christ that believers reflect when we remain submitted to Him.

So, help me to remain submitted to Christ and live my life for Your glory—as a good representative of the One who gave His life, so that I might truly live for Him in this world.

And help me to trust You and never be afraid—knowing that You not only heard His prayer when He asked You to keep us and protect us from the evil one, but You also are faithful to answer that prayer, both right now and forevermore.

Help me to walk that fine line between understanding that this world is not my home, and still accepting that I have an important part to play in Your divine plan, while I remain here.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

The LORD Says

The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

—Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT)

O LORD my GOD,

Thank You for all the promises that I find in Your Word—and help me to do my part to secure those promises in my life.

Your Word promises me that You will rescue me—if I love You.

Your Word promises me that You will protect me—when I put my trust in Your name.

Your Word promises me that You will answer me—every time I call to You.

Your Word promises me that You will be with me—even when I find myself in trouble.

Your Word promises me that You will honor me—as I humbly depend on You alone.

Your Word promises me that You will reward me with long life—long enough for me to accomplish Your purposes for me here and to make me ready to meet You there.

Your Word promises me that You will give me Your salvation—as I reach out and take it by faith.

Thank You for all the promises that I find in Your Word—and help me to do my part to secure those promises in my life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Sent Into This World

I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

—John 17:15-18 (ESV)

Dear Heavenly Father,

I do not ask You to take me out of this world but ask that You keep me from the evil one and sanctify me in the truth of Your Word, as You send me into this world.

Just as You sent Your Son, Jesus, into the world, You have sent me into the world, not to be of the world, but to be a light to illuminate the darkness of the world.

Just as Jesus prayed that You would sanctify His disciples by the truth—purifying and setting them apart to minister that truth as healing for this broken world—I pray that You would sanctify me with the truth for Your service to this world.

Protect and keep me from the temptation to become like the world. Grant me the wisdom and discernment to reject every scheme, trap, and lie of the enemy, and to replace it with the truth of Your Word. Deliver me from the evil one and his demons.

I do not ask You to take me out of this world but ask that You keep me from the evil one and sanctify me in the truth of Your Word, as you send me into this world.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I Will Be Glad and Rejoice!

I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love,
for you have seen my troubles,
and you care about the anguish of my soul.

—Psalm 31:7 (NLT)

Loving LORD,

How wonderful it is to be glad and rejoice in Your love—to know, in my heart, that it’s always Your unfailing love which carries me through the hardest things that life on this earth can bring!

In the midst of my troubles, let me know Your unfailing love for me—Your mercy and Your grace poured out over me.  For only by the power of Your caring and compassionate presence here with me can the anguish of my soul be truly put to rest.

Don’t allow my anguish to overwhelm my soul. Don’t allow my troubled heart to see the very hard, but momentary, struggles I face here on earth, as larger than Your capacity to bring me through them all—in unfathomable peace and with enduring joy—because of the ultimate victory made available to me in Christ.

Help me to run to Your love, allow You to hold me in that love, and trust You to protect me and provide for me by that love—knowing that You see my troubles and care about the anguish of my soul, and through Your unfailing love, will show me the path of life you have for me.

How wonderful it is to be glad and rejoice in Your love—to know, in my heart, that it’s always Your unfailing love which carries me through the hardest things that life on this earth can bring!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
