My Strength, My Song, My Salvation

“Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
For the Lord God is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”

—Isaiah 12:2 (NASB)

LORD GOD,

You are my strength, my song and my salvation! How can I not trust You—and refuse to be afraid?

With wonder and great thanksgiving I declare that You are my salvation—not only because of the saving grace of the Savior that You sent to free me from my sin, but also because of the place of perfect safety You have reserved for me in You.

And since I believe You for my eternal salvation, how can I not believe that You will take care of every temporal need that I have and preserve my way—working all things for my good—with each step I take here, on my journey home to be with You forever.

Help me to reflect on Your faithfulness to me—with thanksgiving—and in faithful obedience to Your Word, put all of my hope and faith in You, for the continuing salvation that You have promised to me, with every breath of every moment that I live.

Be my strength—flooding the void of my weakness with Your strength—equipping me in every way for every battle of faith along the path on which You have set me.

Be my song—overwhelming my spirit with Your Holy Spirit, so that the music of my life would be one of continual praise and thanksgiving for all You have done, and uninterrupted worship for all that You are.

You are my strength, my song and my salvation! How can I not trust You—and refuse to be afraid?

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
