Heavenly Father,
Lead me by Your Holy Spirit into all Truth, so that I might not be deceived by the enemy into believing the path that I am on is right—only to find out in the end that the path I have chosen has led me to self-destruction and death.
Help me consciously,
carefully, and continuously consider the path that I have chosen, by first examining
my heart to be sure that I have not fallen into self-deception and hypocrisy—where
I find myself playing at religion,
instead of walking in true faith and
obedience to You.
Help me to be careful to
listen for, hear and obey the promptings of Your Spirit—making the choice not to follow after the lusts of my own
flesh—so that my path will be a path of life and peace and joy.
Help me to regularly seek
out the strength that is found in the fellowship of other believers, that I
might freely and openly share with them my burdens and challenges and so they
can encourage me in the way that I should go.
Lead me by Your Holy Spirit into all Truth, so that I might not be deceived by the enemy into believing the path that I am on is right—only to find out in the end that the path I have chosen has led me to self-destruction and death.
