In Humility And Honesty

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

—James 4:7 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to remember that when I humble myself and come honestly before You—acknowledging You are my only source of strength—You empower me to resist the attacks of the devil and will cause him to run from me in fear.

Help me always to humbly and willingly acknowledge Your authority over me, Your power at work in me through Your Holy Spirit, and the authority that is given me in the name of Jesus, by the sacrifice He made for me.

Let me never forget that the only weapon the enemy has to use against me is his relentless attempt to deceive me into not believing the Truth of Your Word—for there is nothing more dangerous to the enemy than a Christian who knows and believes the Truth found in Your Word.

You alone have authority over me.  And as I submit to Your will, in obedience to Your Word, You give me the authority to act on Your command to resist the attacks of the devil, with the full confidence that he must flee from me.

Help me to remember that when I humble myself and come honestly before You—acknowledging You are my only source of strength—You empower me to resist the attacks of the devil and will cause him to run from me in fear.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
