“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need."—Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me always to seek You first—to make You the center of my life, in my every thought, word and action—as I strive to live in obedience to Your Word and to serve You with my whole heart.
Keep me from wasting my
time by allowing my mind to be cluttered with the anxious worries that
unbelievers allow to consume them. I am a believer—help me to act like one!
Help me to put my
attention on the answer—the answer that I always find in Your Word—rather than
the problem, since I know that You are already aware of my every need and always
have a plan to provide for those needs, if I will just place my trust in You.
As I commit to putting You
first in my life, show me Your faithfulness by supplying not only every
spiritual need that I have, but every physical need as well.
Help me not to allow the
“what ifs” of this life to rob me of the opportunities that You have placed
before me to fully live in Your
perfect will for me each day.
Help me always to seek You first—to make You the center of my life, in my every thought, word and action—as I strive to live in obedience to Your Word and to serve You with my whole heart.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
