Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.—1 John 5:3-5 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me to love You ever more deeply this day—and demonstrate my love by purposing in my heart to be obedient to all of Your commandments.
For when my obedience to
You flows from my love for You, it is not a burden for me to obey, but rather a
joy and a blessing in my life which brings me peace, protection and provision.
And though I am surrounded
by the evil of this fallen world, I have been given the victory over it by my faith—because
I am Your dearly loved child.
And I am Your child and
can win this battle against the world because I have chosen to believe that
Jesus is Your Son—and I have chosen to make Him my Lord.
So, help me to find
victory over this evil world by fighting for a deeper love for You, a greater
faith in You and a more obedient heart after You.
Help me to love You ever more deeply this day—and demonstrate my love by purposing in my heart to be obedient to all of Your commandments.
