To Make A Difference

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.   Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

—Colossians 4:5-6 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to live wisely among those that do not believe—living in this world, but not being of this world—that by my life, I might make the most of every opportunity You place before me to make a difference in their lives.

Help me to guard my heart against being foolish—against anything that would tempt me to act thoughtlessly or react rashly toward others—against anything that would keep me from fully following Your plan for my life today.

Help me to be sensitive to Your Spirit moving in the hearts of those around me and make the most of every opportunity to show Your love to others—especially to those who do not know You as their Savior.

When I speak, fill my mouth with Your words of Truth—so that Your Spirit would convict them of their sin and my conversation would draw them to You, not drive them away.

Grant me the wisdom to give the best answer to any questions they might ask, by responding with Truth from Your Word—Truth that is wrapped in Your unfailing Love for them.

Help me to live wisely among those that do not believe—living in this world, but not being of this world—that by my life, I might make the most of every opportunity You place before me to make a difference in their lives.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
