For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.—2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for making Your light shine in that once dark place of my heart.
Thank
You for the light of the Good News of Jesus Christ which shines brightly within
me, giving me knowledge of Your glory through Him—knowledge which is given to
me, so I can give You all the glory, honor and praise that is due You.
Thank You that even though
I am frail, fragile and fallible, You entrusted this infinitely priceless
message of salvation to me, so that Your glory would be fully seen in me—that
others would be able to see and know that my life is empowered by Your presence
in me and that I do not stand in my own power.
May my understanding of my
total dependence on You, work in me to keep me from the foolishness of
pride—and may that knowledge motivate me to stay in continuous contact with You
as my only source of strength.
May I take seriously my
responsibility to allow others see You in me, by being open and transparent
about my powerlessness aside from You.
Thank You for making Your light shine in that once dark place of my heart.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
