A New Grip and Renewed Strength for a Straight Path

So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.  Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

—Hebrews 12:12-13 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Grant me the wisdom to grasp Your plans for me—and the strength, courage and resolve to renew my commitment to that calling with each new day that comes—for the sake of those that are weak and lame who are on this journey with me.

When I find myself weakened—whether physically or emotionally or spiritually—help me to take a new grip on that to which You have called me and draw on the strength of Christ in me to help me be obedient to the straight path that Your call requires.

Help me daily to take a fresh hold on Your plan for my life, with deeper strength and purpose, and move forward through those fears that would weaken my knees and immobilize me—by courageously facing the unknown with the confidence that Your Spirit abides in me, to uphold me in Your strength.

Help me to follow after that straight path of willing obedience to You in all things, so that those who are weak and have been injured in this good fight of faith will see You at work—both in me and through me—and be encouraged, strengthened, healed and made whole again in You, for Your glory!

Grant me the wisdom to grasp Your plans for me—and the renewed strength, courage and resolve to take a new grip on that calling with each new day that comes—as I submit my will to Yours and put all of my trust in You.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
