Obedience, Without Delay

I pondered the direction of my life,
    and I turned to follow your laws.
I will hurry, without delay,
    to obey your commands.

Heavenly Father,

Let this be my story, that I continue to tell for the rest of my life—that I pondered the direction of my life and I turned to follow Your laws; that I hurried, without delay, to obey Your commands.

To that end, remind me to make time to frequently stop and ponder the direction of my life—and to consider the extent to which I am hurrying, without delay, to obey Your commands.

Show me the state of my heart—and how my obedience (or my disobedience) to You is continually determining the course of my life—and help me turn down those paths of surrender, toward perfect submission to You.

Help me to be quick to follow Your commands—fully trusting that my obedience will always bring Your best for me, and the upmost glory to You.

Let this be my story, that I continue to tell for the rest of my life—that I pondered the direction of my life and I turned to follow Your laws; that I hurried, without delay, to obey Your commands.

Give Me Understanding and I Will Obey

Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions;
    I will put them into practice with all my heart.
Make me walk along the path of your commands,
    for that is where my happiness is found.

Heavenly Father,

Open the eyes of my understanding—so that I can obey You with all of my heart and walk along the path of Your commands.  For my happiness is found as I walk with You, through every moment of each day that lies before me.

With Your Spirit as my teacher, open up the richness of Your Word to my spirit and help me to understand everything that I need to know—that I might fully accomplish those things that You have planned for me to do.

Lead me to that place of absolute obedience to You—as You bend my will along the path of Your commands—for my own good, in order to protect me, provide for me, and to keep me in every way, in Your perfect peace.

And let me discover those places of great blessing—which can only be found as I follow all of Your instructions and join in Your divine work—as I put my trust in Your great love for me and find the very best You have for me, in my life in Christ.

Open the eyes of my understanding—so that I can obey You with all of my heart and walk along the path of Your commands.  For my happiness is found as I walk with You, through every moment of each day that lies before me.

The Joy I Find Down the Path of Life in Your Presence

You will make known to me the path of life;

Heavenly Father,

It is in You that I have placed all of my trust, for I know that You will always lead me down the path of life—to that place of joy and peace that is found only in Your Presence.

Thank You that as I consistently seek to hear Your voice, as I listen for Your Holy Spirit within me to speak to every decision I make, You are always faithful to lead me down paths that bring me life—life that is full, rich, and free; life that fulfills Your will for me.

Thank You that as I remain in Your Presence, and allow the power of Christ in me to carry me through every hardship I face, the weight of the cares of this world is lifted from my shoulders—and my joy is made complete in serving You.

Thank You that Your invitation—to me and to all believers—is that I remain at Your right hand and enjoy the pleasure of living in the protection, provision, and peace of Your Presence with me, forever and ever.
