The Sovereign LORD has given me his words of wisdom,
so that I know how to comfort the weary.
Morning by morning he wakens me
and opens my understanding to his will.—Isaiah 50:4 (NLT)
Sovereign LORD,
Thank You that morning by morning You awaken me and open my understanding to Your will—giving me Your words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary.
With each new day that
comes, You are always faithful to reveal to me a deeper understanding of Your
will—as I spend time prayerfully searching for those ever richer revelations
from Your Word.
As I abide in Your
Presence, You show me how to use the words of wisdom that You have revealed to
comfort those who are struggling around me—so that when prompted by Your Holy
Spirit, I will be ready to accept Your invitation to be a part of the work that
You are doing in others, to draw them to Yourself.
Never let me stop seeking
You—through Your Word and through prayer—as You reveal Your character and Your
will to me. And make me a vessel that
Your words of wisdom can overflow from, so that all those around me can be
comforted by the richness of Christ’s love for us all.
Thank You that morning by morning You awaken me and open my understanding to Your will—giving me Your words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary.
