Always Be, Never Stop, In All Circumstances

Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

—1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Let me remain in the perfect peace that You offer to all those who belong to Christ Jesus—who, in accord with Your will, are joyful, prayerful and thankful at all times.

Regardless of how I may feel at any particular moment, may my joy—that deep happiness that is fueled by continuing to walk with You in faith—remain constant and unchanged.

Regardless of how busy and disordered my day might become, may I continue unceasingly in prayerful conversation with You—the only One who brings order to my chaos and peace to all things.

Regardless of what circumstances I may find myself in, remind me to remain thankful—continually expressing my gratefulness to You from the innermost parts of my heart—knowing that You are working in all things for my good.

Let me remain in the perfect peace that You offer to all those who belong to Christ Jesus—who, in accord with Your will, are joyful, prayerful and thankful at all times.

To Wait For His Help

This is what the Sovereign LORD,
    the Holy One of Israel, says:
“Only in returning to me
    and resting in me will you be saved.
In quietness and confidence is your strength.
    But you would have none of it.     —Isaiah 30:15 (NLT)

So the LORD must wait for you to come to him
    so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the LORD is a faithful God.
    Blessed are those who wait for his help.     —Isaiah 30:18 (NLT)

Sovereign LORD,

Grant that I would always come to You and find my strength renewed as I rest quietly and confidently in You—held by the assurance of Your love and compassion, and the truth of Your faithfulness to me.

Thank You that, no matter how hard the circumstances that I face may be, I find my salvation in You—if I choose to come to You and wait for Your help.

So may I always be quick to turn to You—to come into Your presence, allow You to quiet my soul, and confidently rest in Your promises—so that my strength is renewed and You can show me Your love and compassion.

And may I always choose to remain in that strength and safety that I find in Your presence and never fall to the temptation to put my hope in anyone or anything other than the mighty power of my Creator and Redeemer.

Grant that I would always come to You and find my strength renewed as I rest quietly and confidently in You—held by the assurance of Your love and compassion, and the truth of Your faithfulness to me.

You Will Guide Me Continually

The LORD will guide you continually,
    giving you water when you are dry
    and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
    like an ever-flowing spring.

Loving LORD,

Thank You for guiding me in every decision I make, both today and always—so that my life can be like an ever-flowing spring of worship offered up to You, for Your glory, honor and praise alone!

You are the One who guides me on the right path—that path that leads me to life more abundantly—to that place where You can take care of all of my needs.

You are the One who gives me Your life-giving water when I become dry—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—seeing to it that I have everything I need to restore my strength for the journey forward.

You are the One who causes my life to abound with good things, like a well-watered garden, for the benefit and encouragement of others—so that Your Kingdom would be fully established here on earth according to Your will.

Thank You for guiding me in every decision I make, both today and always—so that my life can be like an ever-flowing spring of worship offered up to You, for Your glory, honor and praise alone!
