The LORD directs our steps,
so why try to understand everything along the way?

Heavenly Father,
Grant me the faith to trust in Your love for me and in the good and perfect plans and purposes You have for my life—and not to worry when things don’t go just as I think they should.
Help me to maintain that tranquility
of spirit that comes by accepting that there will be things that happen that I
will not immediately or completely understand—but that You will reveal Your
purposes for them to me, when the time is right.
Help me to walk in patient
obedience to You in the meantime, as I carefully watch for You to unfold Your
plan before me—knowing You are working in Your perfect timing for my greatest
good.
And help me not to get caught
up in thinking I need to tell You just how You should turn those confusing things
that happen back to my good—but rather, help me simply trust that You always will,
just as You always have.
Grant me the faith to trust in Your love for me and in the good and perfect plans and purposes You have for my life—and not worry when things don’t go just as I think they should.
