Called To Live In Peace

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

—Colossians 3:15 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

May I always remember to be thankful—for You have called me to live in peace.

Though the cold winds of change blow against me and the storms of life in this fallen world rage all around me, You have given me the amazing privilege of allowing Your peace—the peace that comes from Christ—to rule and reign in me.

It is not a peace that the world can give—as if the world could ever give me true peace—but it is a peace that transcends all circumstances and goes beyond my human capacity to understand.

As I allow Your peace to live in my heart, I can take up my responsibility to live at peace with others in the body of Christ, so that I can do my part to bring unity within the church, and together we can be a beacon of hope to a lost and dying world.

May my heart become so saturated with the peace of Christ that it flows out of me and brings peace to everyone I meet—that You might be glorified in me.

May I always remember to be thankful—for You have called me to live in peace.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
