Not Ashamed

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.  This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight.  This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

—Romans 1:16-17 (NLT)

Gracious God,

May I never shrink back from sharing the Good News about Christ with others—for it is a message of hope and salvation which carries life-changing power to everyone who believes.

Help me not to be embarrassed or ashamed of my own inadequate attempts to share the story of Your most amazing mercy and grace.

Instead, help me to focus my heart on You and trust Your Spirit to speak through me the message that You want heard.

Help me always to look for opportunities to share the Good News of how You make us right in Your sight—most importantly, of how it is accomplished from start to finish just by believing You.

Help me not to lose sight of the fact that this Good News about Christ is intended for everyone—that something this great simply must be shared.

Help me to express that this Good News about Christ brings life to all who believe—life for both the here and now, and for eternity.

May I never shrink back from sharing the Good News about Christ with others—for it is a message of hope and salvation which carries life-changing power to everyone who believes.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
