Tears

Jesus wept.

Compassionate Lord,

Thank You for the tears You shed.

Thank You for loving me enough to come to earth and take on the flesh and blood and the mind and emotions of a man—to experience all of the tests and trials that I face and more—so I would know that You know how I feel.

Thank You that there is healing from my hurts and pains in the tears that You designed for me to shed—that it’s okay to cry, and to cry out to You.

Thank You for Your example of compassion, that was demonstrated for us in the tears You shed, and how it reminds me to have compassion on all those around me—for life in this world is not easy, especially for those who do not know You.

Thank You for the tears You shed.
