To Share Your Heart

Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
    and make you wise.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for wanting me to come to You and listen to Your counsel—that I might know Your heart and that I might live in Your wisdom.

Help me to do that which is necessary to receive the wisdom of Your counsel—to make time to stand still in Your Presence and quietly listen for Your Voice.

Rescue me from any pride in me that would cause me not to first seek out Your heart in every decision that I make.

Keep me from the foolishness of believing that I don’t need Your guidance and direction—at all times and in every single area of my life.

And help me to surrender my will completely to Yours—to submit my self-centered plans to Your plans for me—so that Your will can be accomplished in my life.

Help me to come to You, to truly listen—filled with expectation for the wise counsel that will pour from Your heart—as I open my own heart to hear what Your Spirit would say to me.
