The Fruit-Producing Work Of The Holy Spirit

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

—Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the fruit-producing work of Your Holy Spirit in my life—which is made active as I surrender my will to Yours and make Christ the Lord of my life.

Help me to be a person who loves You and loves others—with the deep, God-kind of love that can only come from You.

Help me to be a person who overflows with unrelenting joy—because of Your faithfulness to me at all times and the hope that is mine in Christ.

Help me to walk in that peace that passes understanding and, as much as is my part, live at peace with others.

Help me patiently bear with others, being kind and gentle—just as You have been patient, kind and gentle with me.

Help me to remain faithful to You—at all times and in every situation—just as You have remained faithful to me.

Help me to have a gentleness of spirit and exercise self-control at all times—as I surrender my control to You, for Your glory and honor.

Help me not forget that only as I am able to submit my will to the lordship of Jesus Christ and allow Your Holy Spirit to work within me, will my life produce these life-giving fruits—which are themselves, the very nature of Christ.

Thank You for the fruit-producing work of Your Holy Spirit in my life—which is made active as I surrender my will to Yours and make Christ the Lord of my life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
