So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.—Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me to be careful to live like one who is wise, making the most of every opportunity that You place before me—as I take the time to understand Your will for me in Christ.
In these evil days, help
me to be careful how I live and not be foolish, but rather help me carefully
consider what You would have me do—by pouring out my heart to You in prayer, searching
Your Word for truth, and listening for, and trusting in, the voice of Your
Spirit to guide me.
And in discovering Your
will for me, help me to be obedient to submit my will to Yours—for Your glory,
honor, and praise.
Help me remain sensitive
to the opportunities that You give me to do what is good and right in Your
sight, and not to hesitate—knowing that an opportunity not acted upon can quickly
vanish to the inevitable march of time, never to present itself again.
Help me to be careful to live like one who is wise, making the most of every opportunity that You place before me—as I take the time to understand Your will for me in Christ.
