So
I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your
sinful nature craves.
—Galatians
5:16 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Grant
me the wisdom to allow Your Holy Spirit to guide my life—and keep me from doing
what my sinful nature desires to do.
Let the outflow of my character in action reflect the love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control that I find in Christ—as evidence of my submission to Your
Spirit’s promptings.
Help me to discern the
difference between my own subjective feelings and the leading of Your Holy
Spirit—as I commit to listen for, hear and obey only the voice of Your Spirit
and follow the instructions of Your Word
Strengthen me to continue
to live every moment of my life under the guidance and control of Your Spirit—allowing
the words of Christ to fill my thoughts, to determine my actions, and to be the
power within me that keeps control of my selfish and sinful desires.
Grant
me the wisdom to allow Your Holy Spirit to guide my life—and keep me from doing
what my sinful nature desires to do.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
