Not Afraid, Not Discouraged

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

—Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

LORD God,

I believe that You will never fail me—nor will You ever abandon me!

You have shown Your unwavering faithfulness to me every day of my life—even in the light of my unfaithfulness to You.

Help me to guard my heart against the attacks of my thoughts—keep me from allowing my doubts to cause me to become afraid of the unknown, or discouraged by my apparent circumstances.

Help me to understand that I can only see a very limited picture of everything that You have at work—both in and all around me—to provide for my every need, protect me on every side, and sustain me in every way.

When I become weak, fill me with Your strength and encourage me with Your presence—that I may be strong and courageous in the face of what lies before me—knowing that You go before me personally to ensure my safe passage along the path You have chosen for me.

Thank You for being with me in every moment of my life, and for giving me that unwavering confidence that I never walk alone.

I believe that You will never fail me—nor will You ever abandon me!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
