Feeding On Your Faithfulness

Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.
Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

—Psalm 37:1-3 (NKJV)

Heavenly Father,

May I always place my trust in You, purpose in my heart to do good, live my life here on earth to serve You, and feed my spirit on Your faithfulness to me.

Help me not to allow my thoughts to be consumed with the evil that is being committed all around me and against me, or ever allow myself to become envious of those who seem to get away with doing wrong.

For when I do so, I allow that same evil to corrode my spirit, which contaminates my witness to others, as I become conformed to this world and end up looking no different than the wrongdoers themselves.

Show me the futility of their ways, which drive them ever closer to destruction, so that I might see them through Your eyes—eyes of compassion and love—and pray for them as I ought, so they might repent of their sin and find their salvation in You.

May I always place my trust in You, purpose in my heart to do good, live my life here on earth to serve You, and feed my spirit on Your faithfulness to me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
