Praying To The God Who Listens

Come and listen, all you who fear God,
and I will tell you what he did for me.

For I cried out to him for help,
    praising him as I spoke.

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.

But God did listen!
He paid attention to my prayer.

Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer
or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

—Psalm 66:16-20 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

May I ever cry out to You—with reverential fear in my heart and Your praises on my lips—as I boldly declare the wonderful things that You have done for me!

Help me to cry out to You for help at all times—for all of my help surely comes from You!

Help me to confess to You the sin in my heart—with a broken and contrite spirit.

Help me to have faith that You will listen to my prayers when I come clean before You—seeking Your will above all else.

Let me always praise You for listening to and not ignoring my prayers—or withdrawing Your unfailing love from me.

May I ever cry out to You—with reverential fear in my heart and Your praises on my lips—as I boldly declare the wonderful things that You have done for me!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
