Judging Fairly

“This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another.”

—Zechariah 7:9 (NLT)

LORD of Heaven’s Armies,

May all my judgments be fair and true and may I show mercy and kindness to others—just as You judge everything by the Truth, yet still lavish me with Grace, by pouring out Your mercy and kindness upon me.

Help me not to stand wrongly in judgment of others—condemning those who do not know You for their actions—for You are the only one who truly knows and can judge the heart of a person.

Rather, give me the boldness to speak the Truth in love against that which is sin—which You have revealed in Your Word—all the while demonstrating through my actions, the mercy and kindness that flows out of Your love for all sinners.

Grant me the wisdom to fairly and truly judge between what is right and good, and what is wrong and evil—by correctly applying what I find in Your Word to each situation and to every person’s actions—so that I might continue to live in Truth and Grace and bring glory to You in all of my thoughts, words and actions.

May all my judgments be fair and true and may I show mercy and kindness to others—just as You judge everything by the Truth, yet still lavish me with Grace, by pouring out Your mercy and kindness upon me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
